JETAA Toronto members are known for many things, far and wide. We put together amazing conferences, we train departing JETs in the ways of ALT life, we karaoke like nobody’s business. But another one of our perhaps most dazzling skills is that we defy gravity.
On Saturday, April 25, a dozen JETAA members took to the walls of Joe Rockheads and showed the tricky forces of gravity and muscle fatigue a thing or two about the powers of genki-ness and gambatte-ing. Of course, our mastery of the climbing tradition was learned from our two excellent senseis, Edwina and Pawel (along with some extra coaching from Kevin!).
Once we passed our belay tests, we took to the top-rope and bouldering walls until our arms were numb, our legs shaking, and our hands covered in chalk. Afterwards, we took the party to Kotta sushi where we enjoyed one of our other talents: the nijikai.
