On a wintry day in early March, The JETAA community, along with their family, enjoyed the day’s celebrations at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre’s annual Haru Matsuri to welcome the Spring season.
Folks sampled and munched on a variety of Japanese teas and Spring sweets such as daifuku. Their were many family friendly activities such as face painting, children’s games and photo booth opportunities.
The JCCC is also home to a permanent exhibition on the history of the Japanese Canadian community and JETAA was able to visit this in addition to checking out the Haru Matsuri’s taiko and yokosoi performances on the center stage. We’re looking forward to the JCCC’s Natsu Matsuri (Summer Festival) in July!
