Ramen Romp Report: Momofuku Noodle Bar

On November 18, 2015, seven Ramen Rompers checked out the classy Momofuku Noodle Bar at University & Adelaide. From the outside, once you get past the giant metallic sculpture, one would never guess that this a Japanese restaurant housed in a modern building with beautiful architecture. Each floor has its own theme: The 1st floor is the “Noodle Bar”, the 2nd floor is the “Nikai Bar” and “Milk Bar”, and the 3rd floor is a very classy “Daisho” restaurant. The feel of the interior is much like a fancy New York cocktail bar (this is a chain restaurant that started in NYC by the way), which made it feel cool but also a little strange to be eating ramen in such a setting.

Report: Returners Pub Night / Nuit Blanche Scavenger Hunt 2015

On Saturday, October 3rd we held our annual Welcome Back Returners Pub Night/Nuit Blanche Scavenger Hunt in downtown Toronto. In typical JETAA fashion, it was a night filled with stories, laughter, drinks, and revelry!

This is always one of JETAA Toronto’s most fun and lively events of the year, and we’re happy to officially welcome back all of our fellow JETs from their adventures in Japan.

Ramen Romp Report: Santouka

Everyone got their sweet ramen sweats on at Santouka Hokkaido Ramen on a hot September night. It was well worth the wait to sink into a thick bowl of their Hokkaido ramen with a perfect ajitsuke tamago and gyoza on the side. (more…)

Event Report: GWN Dragon Boat Festival

The GWN Dragon Boat Festival marks the end of JETAA Toronto’s Dragon Boat season. All season long, paddlers have been practicing for this final competition, and all the hard work payed off. (more…)

Event Report: Battle of the Axes 2015

On Thursday September 10th, JETAA returned to BATL in the docklands for our second annual axe throwing tournament. Plaid shirts were out in force as we all tried to get a little closer to our lumberjack roots by chucking axes at wooden targets. (more…)
