JETAA Toronto Does Tea Ceremony

JETAA Toronto Does Tea Ceremony

What was your hobby when you were on JET? Was it something from before you moved to Japan or was it something entirely new? Was there just one or did you take on half-a-dozen new things and explore every new opportunity that came your way?

Whatever it was, I am sure you loved the time you spent doing it. Hopefully you can still do it even now that you are back home in Toronto. It’s not always easy to get a chance to remember your time in Japan, to engage in the activities that you may have started to take for granted in our daily or weekly routines.

Which brings us to our next event this summer – sado!

Wait a moment, you didn’t bring your finest kimono back with you from Japan?!

Well, I guess that’s okay… you don’t have to be in kimono to do a tea ceremony. But don’t worry, our sensei will be looking mighty fine when she takes us though a tea ceremony following the Urasenke-style tradition.
