Rugby World Cup Kick-off Reception

Toronto JETAA Alumni with the Webb-Ellis Cup

JETAA were excited to get invited to Consul-General of Japan in Toronto Takako Ito’s home for a reception promoting the 2019 Rugby World Cup, which will be held in Japan in the fall.

Rugby Canada officials, diplomats from other participating countries, Japan tourism representatives, and most importantly the Webb-Ellis Cup were also in attendance on the evening of March 28th. The trophy was in the 18th leg of its 24-country journey, and we all felt very lucky to have it on loan from the defending champion All Blacks. JETAA Toronto is keen to put together a Team Canada match viewing party when the time comes, so let us know at events@jetaatoronto.ca if you’re interested in joining!
